Using the Generic Package

It is suggested that you install and build the complete generic system with the sample data to verify your development environment and operation of the package and then begin modifying this for your customization.

This approach is assumed in Part I. There's actually more to it than just verifying the installation, see Chapter 2.

We normally have two complete instances of the system, two distinct web apps, two databases, and two sets of COM DLLs. We will refer to these as ``test'' and ``production''. You'll probably want to setup your first instance as ``test''.
