Originally it stood for "Supervisory Print Out" in the early MCP but has become "Single Point Operations" service in current MCP. The SPO would be associated with a particular Operator Display Terminals (ODT), the TD series (TD830 shown) being the classic corresponding to IBM 3270s, by assignment in the NDL (Network Definition Language) sources for the machine controlled.
